10 ways to destress after a long work week
Updated: Aug 24, 2020
It's been a long week, and you are so glad the workweek is over. What can you do to destress? What is the best way to get ready for next week? Here are 10 ways to destress:
Listen to your favorite music or audiobook. Sit back close your eyes and let your mind go where the music takes you or become one with the audiobook story.
Take a long shower or soak in a bubble bath to relax your muscles. Throw a lavender fizz tablet into your tub or shower and have aromatherapy.
Commune with nature and go for a run or walk in the park or your favorite nature trail.
Remember the saying, "take time to smell the roses." Buy your favorite flowers, and take some time to admire the beauty and smell their fragrance.
Get a facial or body massage. Do we really need to say more?
Take a page from your childhood and DAYDREAM. Let your mind wander anywhere it wants to go.
Meditate. Five minutes of meditation can work wonders. Find a quiet place to sit, breathe deeply, and let yourself relax.
Get outside and take in some natural sunlight. Sunlight can elevate your mood and rejuvenate you.
Indulge in your guilty pleasures. Eat a couple of pieces of your favorite chocolate. Have a bowl of ice cream or that slice of pie or cake.
Unplug from all those electronics. This might be hard for some, but for those of us, that remember when you could only go as far as the phone cord, or you had to be at home to receive a phone call. Those were simple and stress-free days.
It's just as important to take care of your mental health as your physical health.
